How common is package theft in the United States?
It's a large-scale problem. SafeWise's 2025 U.S. Package Theft Report estimates about 104 million packages were stolen nationwide in the past year, roughly 250,000 a day, worth around $15 billion, and about 31% of Americans say they've had a package stolen in the last 12 months. Is package theft worse in some cities than others?

The USPS Office of Inspector General's 2025 report (RISC-WP-25-002) examines package theft nationally and estimates at least 58 million packages were stolen in 2024.
Am I at higher risk if I live in an apartment or condo?
Yes. Security.org's 2025 report found people in apartments and condos are more than three times as likely to have a package stolen as single-family homeowners. Shared entryways, concentrated delivery volume, and the lack of a dedicated, staffed mailroom all raise the risk.
When does package theft peak?
The holidays. Online orders surge in the season. Security.org found the average shopper expects about 25 packages between October and December, roughly double a normal three-month stretch, with nearly 70% of holiday shopping happening online, so more packages sit on more doorsteps, for longer, in shorter winter daylight. Late November through December is the peak. Within a given day, thefts skew toward daytime hours, when many residents are out at work.

What is Delivery Amigo?
Delivery Amigo is a package receiving service that gives you a secure delivery address near you. Instead of parcels left on your doorstep, in an unsecured lobby, or sent back when you're not home, they're delivered to a verified local business; a convenience store, café, restaurant, or other trusted retail shop nearby, where you pick them up at your convenience.
How much does it cost?
Subscription plans start at $7.50/month for up to 5 packages, or $15/month for up to 15 (extra packages are $2 each).
How is this different from a PO Box?
A traditional USPS PO Box has structural limits. PO Boxes generally can't accept oversized packages, and they only accept USPS mail; not UPS, FedEx, or other private carriers. Delivery Amigo's partner locations are built to accept packages from every major carrier at once, which removes that restriction.
How is this different from an Amazon Locker or a single-carrier locker service?
Locker services like Amazon Locker are typically tied to one carrier or one retailer's shipments. Delivery Amigo's partner locations accept deliveries from any major carrier; USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Amazon into the same account, instead of needing a different solution per carrier.
My apartment already has a package room, do I need this?
Building package rooms vary a lot. Coverage, staffing, and security differ building to building, and misdelivery or overflow during high-volume periods is common. A dedicated package receiving location gives you a consistent, verified pickup point that doesn't depend on your building's own package-room management.
Does Delivery Amigo work as a mailing address or PMB?
No. Delivery Amigo is for secure package pickup, not a permanent mailing address or Private Mailbox (PMB) service for receiving regular mail or establishing a legal mailing address.
How does pickup verification work?
Each package is released against a pickup PIN tied to your account. You can collect in person, or authorize someone else to pick up on your behalf using that pickup PIN. The correct pickup PIN is the main security requirement; anyone collecting on your behalf must also bring a valid government-issued photo ID before the package is released.
What if I travel often or I'm only in a city part of the year (a snowbird pattern)?
Because packages sit at the partner location until you're ready, Delivery Amigo works for seasonal residents who split time between places and don't want packages piling up on an empty doorstep for months.
